What is the role of women in Taoism (Daoism) today?

I am having trouble finding this answer for a project i am doing in a world history project. Also, has the role of women changed over time in Taoism?

    In Taoism, the women are responsible for burning joss sticks and incense papers during hungry ghost festival, every 1st and 15th of chinese lunar month and for spreading the faith through their “market gossips”.
