Taoism moreover involves the idea of “going with the flow” and showing humility.
Confucianism is a philosphy based on observing the proper etiquette between individuals (teacher/student, parent/child, lord/vassal etc.) in every conceivable situation. It is very complicated and extremely formalized.
Taoism is about adopting the path of least resistance, of allowing things to happen as they wish to happen. There is no formal structure to Taoism, which is the complete opposite to Confucianism.
The only similarity is that neither system requires it’s followers to make difficult choices or develope plans of action–in Confucianism, the choices have already been made, and in Taoism, whatever choice you make (or making no choice at all) is the correct one.
