Go to a shaman.. shamanism is way better it truly heals and after you get healing from a shaman you will truly find your way… druidism is not something that really exists anymore and it’s true definition is skeptical.
Druids don’t turn into animals but, they respect nature as do the Shaman…as far as the age goes it’s pretty close although they are from opposite ends of the planet.
The Shaman are from native american or south american descent…and the Druid of which are celtic descent.
Hope this helps.
i dont really care for the word shaman id rather be called healer or a medicineman or a te-a no not t ah anyway i do heal and also cleanse houses and people of bad spirit so im a worrior too what does your heart tell you to do do you have native in you that helps but it doesnt limit you you can still be taught if you dont but take you time its a long journey but you can accomplish it if you like to know more e mail me at rgloslunasnm@yahoo.com
mix them together man. do a trance dance and talk with the trees….start a drum circle and awaken your inner bear… yeah, thats the good stuff.
“Shamanism” is (4 distinct things) a specific Neoshaman tradition, a specific Northern European tradition, a General tribal tradition, and a general modern set of exercises practiced within many religions, including modern Druid movements. (ADF, and OBOD included)
So, I’ll speak of general Shamanic techniques used in Neoshamanism, vs. Druidry, which has Shamanic techniques as well.
My suggestion is to go to public rites and meet some people. At open circles, ADF rites, Pagan Pride Day, Witches Balls, and other pagan events, you will meet people who are practicing druids, and you’ll meet peole who practice Shamanism in one form or another. It’s impossible to say one is better than another online effectively.
What I can say is the ADF Druid rituals I have been to (and they’re all public here in Pittsburgh) have been very powerful community and spiritual experiences.
Also, I suggest reading a book by a Neoshaman like Michael Harner, and one by a Druid like Isaac Bonewits, and compare the traditions.
